Legados III: 50 years of Capoeira in the US

Mestre Acordeon and the Capoeira Arts Foundation (CAF) are honored to host Mestre Jelon and celebrate 50 years of capoeira in the United States. Join us for 5 days of learning with local and international guests.

Programming includes a community Dinner & Show highlighting work of the pioneers who brought capoeira to the United States; Bate papos, a 24 HOUR Roda & convivencia, and many workshops of capoeira, music, culture, and dance, inspiring deeper connections within our community.

Wednesday: Dinner and Show

Thursday: Walking field trip and first evening of classes/workshops

Friday: Workshops, Roda and Bate Papo

Saturday noon - Sunday noon - 24 Hour Roda and convivencia!!!!!

Sunday afternoon- Forró with Paulo Pressoto - DJ Veesh

PRICING
• Full pass preregistration (with event shirt) $200. Open until Nov 7th

• Full pass registration (with event shirt) after Nov 7th $250.
• Dinner + show (adult): $50. Dinner + show (kids): $10.
• Day pass (FR, SAT) $100.
• Day pass (Sunday) $80.
• Day pass (Wednesday or thursday) $80.
• Donation option for Mestres/teachers: $50 / $75 / $100
• Kids (14 and under) $20 per workshop

All events will happen at the Casa de Cultura, the Capoeira Arts Foundation building. The building stands as more than just a physical space; It's a cherished home away from home for capoeiristas throughout the world and is a globally recognized hub for rich expressions of Afro Brazilian culture: capoeira, art, dance, philosophies, and music.
