Kiara Brinkman and Sean Chiki's RHIANNON In Store Event and Signing

Join us at Mrs. Dalloway's Bookstore on Wednesday, October 29 when Kiara Brinkman and Sean Chiki come to present their new young adult graphic novel, Rhiannon. Kiara and Sean will sign copies of their book after the presentation.

This poignant coming-of-age graphic novel tells the story of three friends growing up in a trailer park in a quiet southwest town.

Ever since she was little, Rhiannon has lived with her aunt in a sleepy, sun-drenched trailer park called Golden Canyon Retirement Community. Growing up among senior citizens, Rhiannon is usually the only kid around—except during the summer. That’s when her best friend, Kit, comes for a long visit.

This summer, something has changed. Rhiannon and Kit’s easy friendship is no longer easy. Even worse, there’s a new teenager in the park—Elizabeth. She’s the polar opposite of Rhiannon: hip, confident, and a bit of a troublemaker. And Elizabeth has a secret that will put Rhiannon and Kit’s friendship to the test.

KIARA BRINKMAN's writing has been published in McSweeney's, One Story, and Failbetter.com. Her novel, Up High in the Trees, was a New York Times Book Review Editors' Choice and a Chicago Tribune Favorite Book of 2007. Lucy in the Sky, her first graphic novel (with artist Sean Chiki), was published in 2021.

SEAN CHIKI is a middle school teacher and cartoonist. His comic stories have been published in collections from Skoda Man Press, and his cartoons have appeared in The Funny Times.

THIS EVENT is free but registration is requested. Registration ends at 6:00 pm on October 29.

BECAUSE SEATING is limited, please register only if you plan to attend.
