Intermediate ESL: Social, Business, and Academic English (M/W)
This course is for scholars and spouses who want targeted help with their English, to see immediate progress with grammar, writing, speaking and pronunciation. Rather than lectures, the course offers practical application in real-life and academic situations.
The classes adjust to various levels, with an Intermediate baseline. The instructor gives detailed personal feedback on assignments, which students can customize based on needs.
Participants learn how to use more advanced grammar and become aware of existing mistakes. They acquire language for social and business situations, from polite requests and apologies to discussing topics of general interest. “This course helped me write reports and find work,” says a former participant. “And it’s a great chance to network with cohorts.”
Class will meet Mondays and Wednesdays 3/4-4/24/19 in Dwinelle Hall, C-33
Instructor: Nicolas Gattig The instructor has an MA in Teaching English and worked in the U.S. and abroad for many years. As a journalist and corporate communication coach, he brings unique insights from these fields to the course.
Registering here simply indicates that you plan to attend the 8 week class. Payment in the amount of $400 will be made directly to the instructor at the first session of class via check, PayPal, or Venmo.
