Green Huse and Briony Greenhill in Concert
Green Huse and Briony Greenhill are improvisers and song writers. “Green writes with the same stark intimacy as Bonnie Raitt or Joni Mitchell,” says critic Reef Holland, while the BBC describes Briony’s “honeyed, soulful voice” as “heaven of the highest order.”
The pair are two members of Bay Area Vocal Improv quintet The Elements, who in 2017 released the world’s first entirely improvised album, Listen. Together they improvised songs like Lava, and River.
Green Huse is a singer/songwriter based in Berkeley. She will share brand new material from her upcoming album alongside old favourites. Green has toured the country, been nominated for awards for her duo album with Root, Down That Road, and sings with the R&B Band, Ruby’s in Town and the Wildcat Canyon Singer-Songwriter Collective.
Briony Greenhill is a singer based in Wales and the Bay Area. She teaches vocal improvisation and LOVES to sing with Green. She’ll play some solo songs like Bless The Girl, and be joined by Gene Lushtak. Briony and Gene are a multi instrumentalist duo who source songs in improvisation. Songs of the healing of love, the end of the world; celtic melodies meeting American grooves; audience singalong, improvising the moment of the night... recently called "the best music in the world" by audience members in Wales...
The night will be partly improvised, partly composed; doused with audience sing-along, and full of heart. Tickets $15 adv, $20 on the door. Doors 7.30, show 8pm. Comfy sofas! :)
