A mainstay in the Bay Area jazz community, trumpeter, composer, arranger, and bandleader Christopher Lowell Clarke performs regularly with his own ensembles and has appeared as a side person with Eddie Marshall and Holy Mischief, the Marcus Shelby Big Band, the Howard Wiley Quintet, and the Electric Squeezebox Orchestra. He received his bachelor’s degree in music from the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, continuing on to a degree in jazz and studio music performance studies from the College Conservatory of Music at the University of Cincinnati. Clarke has performed at the Umbria Jazz Festival, the Fillmore Jazz Festival, and the Monterey Jazz Festival. In addition to performing, Clarke is also a teaching artist for SFJAZZ, Oaktown Jazz Workshops, and the Oakland Public Conservatory.
