# Event Details

- **Event Name**: FIPPP Festival at Berkeley Rep: Day Four: January 18
- **Event Start and End Date**: Sun, 18 Jan, 2026 at 05:00 pm
- **Event Description**: Join us in celebrating the culmination of our three-year residency at Berkeley Repertory Theatre with our third festival of work at the Roda Theatre from Thursday, January 15 to Sunday, January 18, 2026! Our Festival Passes, Sponsorships, and individual show tickets are now on sale!

The twelve formerly incarcerated people who will perform at the festival bring a wealth of stage experience, including as standup comedians, TEDx speakers, Moth winners, Shakespeare actors, Marsh performers, and SF Fringe Festival artists. Their stories of incarceration and reinvention, directed by FIPPP’s team of professional theatre directors, give invaluable insight into the circumstances and choices that led to incarceration, the conditions in prison, and the post-prison experience.

DAY FOUR

Sunday, January 18
5 PM
performances by Christina Aanestad & Gerald Cypert
followed by Ask Me Anything Panel: “Coming Home: Realities of Re-entry”

followed by
Closing Night Party

Show begins at 5pm. The first performer of the night is Christina Aanestad. Christina is a bold and powerful performer whose show incorporates comedy, tenderness and grit to illustrate the realities of life on the street for young women, taking us into her journey of addiction, incarceration, and recovery. Our second and final performer is Gerald Cypert. Gerald delivers a direct and honest narrative of fatherhood, masculinity, and the realities of navigating life after incarceration with profound emotional vulnerability and resonance.

Our show culminates in our final Ask Me Anything Panel: "Coming Home: Realities of Re-entry”, moderated by director Mark McGoldrick.

We develop and present stories by formerly incarcerated people, with the goal of changing the world, one story at a time. We have a packed festival of work planned with powerful solo performances, a few bonus preview events, and three of our popular post-show Ask Me Anything panels.

Since our founding five years ago, we have grown into a full-fledged theater company with a team of eight professional theater directors and twenty formerly incarcerated performers.
We hope to see you in our audience! Please contact Michelle at info@fippp.org to learn how you can be a part of the FIPPP Festival.
