Audrey Film and Filmmaker Q&A
As part of Walden's 60th Year Celebration, we are hosting a viewing of Audrey, the film, followed by a question and answer by the filmmakers Coleman and Shelly Romalis.
In this documentary, Coleman and Shelly Romalis, track Audrey Goodfriend, 90 years old in 2010, from her early years in the secular Yiddish Sholem Aleichem coop houses in the Bronx, New York to the progressive oasis of Berkeley, California.
The film tells of one woman’s lifelong experiences as an internationally-oriented anarchist and her struggles with the complex relationship between deeply-held political values and personal feelings. As a founder of Walden Center and School in Berkeley, she was able to realize one of her life dreams about making an impact in this world.
Refreshments will be provided. There is a suggested donation of $10, but the event is free. All are encouraged to attend. All donations will go towards Walden Center and School.
