This new moon marks the 10 year anniversary of the original signing of the Indigenous Women of the Americas Defending Mother Earth Treaty in Lenape territory during Climate Week 2015.
San Francisco Bay Area signatories of the Indigenous Women of the Americas Defending Mother Earth Treaty Compact invite you to join us for the 123rd New Moon prayer in Berkeley, CA at Cesar Chavez park or from wherever you are on Mother Earth's belly, and at any time that works for you.
We join our prayers together to ask for guidance in how to best protect and defend the sacred system of life. And, because Grandmother Moon guides the waters on Mother Earth's belly as well as the bodies of women, we also pray for the health, liberation and restoration of the waters and the spirits of the waters.
There are words that have been shared by one of our elders that may inspire you in your own prayer in the "Discussion" part of this event.
The historic Indigenous Women of the Americas - Defending Mother Earth Treaty Compact was signed on the day of the fourth Blood Moon, the Harvest Moon and the total lunar eclipse on Sunday, September 27, 2015 on Lenape Territory in New York City.
