Norwegian pianist and comedian Sjur Hjeltnes brings his unique blend of musical comedy to the historic medieval cellar of Dyvekes Vinkjeller, just two minutes from Bryggen.

Before bringing the show to the Edinburgh Fringe in August 2026, Sjur presents a series of performances in Bergen, combining virtuoso piano playing, absurd humour and broken English in a show unlike anything else in town. A perfect start to your evening in Bergen.

This show is a celebration of useless and delicious things such as art, music and cake. Things that have no practical application whatsoever. Not sensible, smart and efficient things, but things that are pleasurable in the moment and then gone, like a symphony or a piece of chocolate. Join Sjur Hjeltnes as he tries to explain the meaning of life in broken English, strolling with the sun in his back and a glass in his hand. Taking you on a musical exploration of pleasure and happiness, completely contrary to the Norwegian Health Board recommendations.
