This course covers the standard modules in FLACS, such as geometry import/ generation, gas dispersion, explosion and fire, as well as liquid pool spread. It also includes presentations on explosion mitigation and probabilistic risk analysis. This course combines both theory and practical exercises with FLACS software. Therefore, students will be required to practice and apply their new knowledge of the software through extensive hands-on workshops. About half the time will consist of presentations and the rest will be hands-on with the FLACS software.
Attendees are able to use FLACS for standard application in their projects.

People who intend to carry out consequence modelling with FLACS or work closely together with people performing FLACS simulations such as safety engineers and consultants in risk consultancy companies, oil and gas and process industries engineers, regulatory body professionals, nuclear industry engineers, and engineering company employees
The course could potentially be useful for structural and process engineers as these disciplines often provide either important input (i.e. anticipated congestion levels and process parameters) or use the output (i.e. design overpressures) of the FLACS studies by providing a better understanding of the most relevant parameters and mechanisms. Attendance of this course is mandatory for FLACS users.
