Lær mer om Bergen og Grønlands historie fra ekspertene – bli med på en spennende kveld med formidling!
Arctic Frontiers og Universitetsmuseet i Bergen inviterer til foredrag og diskusjon for å feire utstillingen 'Bergen-Grønland: Glemte forbindelser'. Vi vil samle kunstnere, museumseksperter, antropologer og forskere fra Grønland, Norge og Danmark, som har bidratt til kunnskap om historien og båndene mellom Bergen og Grønland.
Gjennom historiske dokumenter, kunst og nyere forskning inviterer utstillingen til å reflektere over hvordan båndene mellom Bergen – og Norge for øvrig – og Grønland har blitt formet, og hva disse båndene betyr i dag. Den dekker utviklingen fra 1600-tallet til i dag. Utstillingen vil ikke bare fremheve moderne kunnskap, men også utfordre etablerte forståelser fra fortiden.
For å feire utstillingen inviterer vi til korte foredrag fulgt av en panelsamtale der bidragsytere og eksperter bak utstillingen vil få anledningen til å presentere sin innsikt. Samtalene vil bli fulgt av en åpen mottagelse, med lett servering og mulighet for nettverksbygging.

Learn more about Bergen and Greenland's history from the experts – join an educational evening with knowledge dissemination!
Arctic Frontiers and the University Museum of Bergen will host keynotes and discussions to celebrate the exhibition ‘Bergen-Greenland: The Forgotten Histories’. We will bring together artists, curators, visual anthropologists and researchers from Greenland, Norway and Denmark, who have contributed to knowledge sharing about the history and connection of Bergen and Greenland.
Through a combination of historical documents, art, and more recent research material the exhibition invites the audience to reflect on how the connections between Bergen – and the whole of Norway – and Greenland have been shaped, and what these connections mean today. It broadly covers the development from the 17th century to our own time. The exhibition project not only aims at bringing forth new knowledge but also challenge established understandings of the past.
To celebrate the exhibition, we invite to short keynotes followed by a panel discussion where contributors and experts behind the exhibition can share their insights. The talks will be followed by an open reception, with light catering and the potential for networking.
