🎪 About the Show: Get ready for a thrilling evening of old-fashioned melodrama set in the late 1890s at Wichita Hillside University! “The Adventure of the Clutching Claw” is a delightfully over-the-top tale of heroes, villains, and damsels in distress. A mysterious figure stalks the darkened campus pathways, threatening students and staff alike. This classic melodrama invites audiences to cheer for the hero, boo the villain, and gasp at every twist and turn. Full of suspense, humor, and theatrical fun, this show is perfect for performers who love big emotions and even bigger characters!
🎭 ROLES AVAILABLE:
DR. PENROSE PLAYFAIR – The kindly president of the college; a devoted educator who is sometimes at a loss for words
FENTON ORMONDROYD – The villain; Dr. Playfair’s evil identical twin cousin who seeks to put the college’s money in his own pocket (played by same actor as Dr. Playfair)
GENEVIEVE ASTOR – The heroine; Dr. Playfair’s beautiful ward who loves the hero in a pure manner
DICK BESTMAN – The hero; a student at W.H.U., an athlete, scholar and all-around swell guy
TIMMY OLDFELLOW – Boy cheerleader and Dick’s best pal; not quite as swell as Dick, but swell
MISS ALMA SHREWWD – The president’s secretary; a suffragette who thinks she should be in charge of the school, and mostly is
PROFESSOR KRANSTON – A brilliant scientist who harbors a secret past
PEACHES LATOUR – A sultry chanteuse with high ambitions
THE CLUTCHING CLAW – A mysterious figure of fear! Who, or what, is it?
