Ecstatic dance is like a meditation for the body. We let go of our minds and drop into the body, to be with whatever is happening for us at the time. Movement can help us access, express, release, and celebrate what is, and what might be hard to notice otherwise.
Each time we begin by relaxing into our bodies and pausing to allow our full selves to arrive. Then we explore the theme in various ways - sharing, moving, playing - to prime ourselves for expression and weave our group together.
The majority of the time is for free-form movement. A carefully crafted playlist will guide you through an experience of being with yourself and whatever is happening for you in the moment. Sometimes we don't really know how we are until we let the body move.
The hour-long playlist will carry you through gradual opening, energy building, transformation, release, integration, and rest.
When the music is finished there will be time for optional sharing about anything that happened during the dance. Then we close and return to our lives, with more attunement to our bodies and ourselves.
Any form of dancing or movement is allowed as long as it is safe for everyone. All people of all sizes, types, and ages welcome. There is no photography or recording of any kind. This is a drug and alcohol free space.
Registration not required, there will be plenty of space for everyone. Please mark "going" if you plan to be there!
This season we turn toward the systems of our bodies and use them as metaphors for life. There will not be a lot of facts and lecture. Instead we will tune in deeply to the body itself, to see what we can sense physically, intuitively, and energetically. The fundamentals are always always rich with meaning and when we build our foundation we strengthen everything. I look forward to being in the body with you.

Things to consider bringing:
**Yourself, just as you are.
**Plenty of water. However, you can refill water bottles on site.
**Blankets are available for sitting and laying on, but bring your own if you like.
**Clothing to keep you cool enough, or warm enough, depending on the phase of the dance.
**If you feel moved: something to share: poem, song, snack, a beautiful item, rattle, etc.
Take care of yourself. You are responsible for your well-being.
Check in with yourself often to make sure everything you are doing feels good to you. It can be easy to get overwhelmed or follow the group when you really would be more comfortable with something else. It is always ok to do something different if it will feel more supportive for you.
