- **Event Description**: The Franklin County Sheriff's Office, in partnership with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Rend Lake, are excited to announce the 2nd annual "Bikes and Badges" community event that will take place on Saturday, June 6th, 2026 at the Rend Lake Dedication Lot (Spillway).  Two sessions will be held, the first at 10:00 am and the second at Noon.
This family friendly event is designed to promote bicycle safety and encourage outdoor recreation.  Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in a 1 mile guided bike ride led by a Sheriffs Deputy and a Rend Lake Park Ranger.  The event will also feature free bicycle and helmet giveaways along with complimentary food for participants.
We are grateful for this years sponsors; Franklin County Office of Emergency Management and Communications, Thompsonville American Legion Post 1194, Infinity Tool MFG, Southern Illinois Bank, and the Benton / West City Wal-Mart.  Without their support this event would not be possible.
