Friends, we are calling you to the forest; come!
You are invited to join us for an afternoon of community and communion.
We will gather in the Mountain Yurt to hear a story, told as a map for these times to feed the village. We will listen to the songs birthed by Spirit Hollow, Earth’s calling songs to us humans through the passage of Soul. We will pour libations to the land to bless and lament the tree cutting and the felling of the elders of these mountains. We will share in potluck, weaving community through our bellies!
Sara (Hollogram Heart) McFarland and Tracey (KeyTurner) Forest have been catching songs for decades -- listening to the songs of now in the places we live with and pilgrimage to. Tracking Mystery and Soul’s call, we met in our training as Soul Initiation Guides, traveling in the depths of psyche, soul and the Wild Earth. We are both song carriers and keepers of the sacred flame.
The first mytho-poetic offering of our duo is an album of calling songs, magical underworld soul weavings and blessings for the future ones, Working Title: Beyond the Known.
With beauty, allurement and fierce love, we invite you off the beaten path into the mythic forest that is out beyond the village. There, you will meet creatures both magical and wounded, beautiful and shy- including your own wild Soul. Will you journey with us for an afternoon?
Much of what is to come lies in the dreaming; even our own name as a duo has remained a mystery. Now, we are poised to release our first single, “Come to the Forest” to kick off our crowdfunding campaign to raise the monies needed to bring this full album/incredible being into the world!
Why a crowdfunding campaign? Last fall, we began recording three of these songs, but there are 13 or 14 total that are longing to be sung into the world! However, it is, like all times of creation and manifesting a vision, a labor of love. The truth is, albums cost money up front for studio time, mixing and editing, musicians and distribution.
At the event, we will reveal the name of our duo to you and ask for you to welcome our vision, our voices and our music into the world through a ceremony of blessing and generosity.
We will gather in the Mountain Yurt by a cozy wood fire to hear a Sara tell a story and listen to the final mixes of our original songs.
Sara and Tracey will perform live versions of them, accompanied by incredible multi-instrumentalist, Mowgli Giannitti.
As a group, will we go out onto the land to make our offerings, tears and pour our libations of wine or water in a healing gesture to the forest, which has endured a devastating forest service logging operation for the last few months on our eastern border.
Potluck - bring a dish of food to share with the group (keep in mind many are vegan or GF, so please have meat, dairy and gluten on the side or separate)
Donation (at the event) for the album costs if you are able to share, no amount too small! Each cent given with intention carries your blessing and prayers for the full album to be realized.
