Labs will not have an instructor but will be monitored. Clay LabsMondays, September 14 - October 26, 3-6pm Wednesdays, September 9th - October 28th, 8:30-11amThursdays, September 3rd - October 29th, 12-3 and 6-9pmEach student is entitled to up to 3 hours of Clay Lab time per week.  The student can choose to use it all at once or split it up into separate days.In this four week class, we will learn to make three different types of lidded containers. We will practice throwing and shaping the jars and measuring and fitting the lids. Classes one and two will be focused on throwing the jars and lids. In class 3 we will trim our jars and lids. Class four we will glaze our pieces and discuss adjustments to the glazing process for lidded containers. Katie is an artist, mathematician, and experiential educator with two decades of experience in all of those areas. She is both a painter and a ceramic potter. On the wheel she makes a variety of functional work and often manipulates the forms, adds hand built parts, and interesting textures.
