Goa Chitra is proud to present ‘The International celebrity concert” with a unique classical performance featuring Patricia Rozario, soprano; Joan-Enric Lluna, clarinet; Mark Troop, piano on the 3rd of November, 2016 at 6:00 pm.
Sensitive to the cause of preserving the past for posterity, Patricia Rosario, soprano leading international opera celebrity along with renowned pianist Mark Troop and one of Spain’s leading clarinetist Joan Enric Lluna have come together to extend their support to the Goa Chitra museum.
The Goa Chitra museum, is the only museum which is totally self-funded and works tirelessly in keeping the cultural narrative alive through its collection and activities.
The concert will include romantic works by Spohr and Schubert, famous operatic arias, clarinet showpieces and the immortal Shepherd on the Rock for clarinet, voice and piano.
One of its kind, the concert shall be held in the halls of the Goa chakra museum, where the acoustics are crisp, bringing to the audience a scintillating music experience. Acclaimed soprano Patricia Rozario (OBE), professor of voice at London’s prestigious Royal College of Music needs little introduction for she is not only considered to be the epitome of operetta, but her charity work to promote opera music through Giving voice to India speaks volumes about her . Her accolades include performance at the English National Opera, Opera North, Glyndebourne Festival Opera, and the Garsington Opera in England, and has performed on across Europe in Aix-en-Provence, Brussels, Frankfurt, Ghent, Innsbruck, Lyon and Stuttgart.
Rozario has made numerous recordings of the works of composer John Tavener. She was awarded the Order of the British Empire in 2001. Rozario is currently a professor at the Royal College of Music, where she is a member of the Vocal Faculty
Mark Troop, Mark Troop, pianist, broadcaster and writer, is the founder of The Chamber Music Company, a creative performance group. As a solo pianist he recorded for BBC Radio 3 before making programmes as a producer. He now runs five festival events – Rare Classical Music, Inspired By China, Tango Passion, German cabaret and New Classical Music. He also runs an educational foundation in India and is a lecturer in music at Goa University.
Joan Enric Lluna , combines his work as a clarinettist with orchestral conducting and teaching. His commitment to Chamber Music has taken him to perform regularly with string quartets such as the Alexander, Tokyo, Brodsky, or Jerusalem; to share trio with Tasmin Little and Martin Roscoe or Lluís Claret and Josep María Colom among others, and collaborate with ﬁrst class international artists.
Joan has premiered and commissioned a number of chamber works by composers like César Cano, J. Torres, I. Zebeljan’s , P. Barker, D. del Puerto and H. Khoury among others. As a soloist Joan has performed and recorded the clarinet concerto repertoire, and many composers have written new concertos for him, among them Sir John Tavener, Joan Guinjoan or César Cano.
