***Note: Interviews are held at our sister store - Trailside Treats in Belmont. Because the heat and water are off for the winter at Kool Kone - it's much more comfortable to interview at Trailside!!!***
This is a SEASONAL job, not a summer job. We open in mid-April and close in mid-September, so there is some overlap with the school year. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE A STUDENT! We also need adults
Yes, you have to be 16 - otherwise you can't work the hours that are available due to child labor laws. (No exceptions, don't ask.) Yes, you have to work nights and weekends. That's when the hours are available. Yes, you need to be the one who wants to work. It will be your job, not your parent's job. And Yes, many of our alumni say this is the coolest job they've ever had!
It is usually 2-4 shifts per week, usually from 6pm to close with afternoon hours on the weekends. We are open 7 days per week, but we can accommodate most sports, band or church schedules. We know you have a life outside of this job. You just need to be have at least 3 days per week available for the duration of the season.
It is best to make sure you attend one of the open interview dates. Interviews are held before spring break, and hiring decisions made during this time. There usually are not any positions left after spring break.
Applications are available on site. You will fill out the application and interview right then. No appointments, you might have to wait a little while. Your application will ask for references. Previous jobs but don't worry if this is your first job. (We like first timers - you don't have any bad habits yet!) Teachers can also be references, or volunteer work supervisors, or coaches. References are usually the part of the application that people struggle with, so bring your list with you and you can attach it to the app.
