Ja! vir die lewe is far more than a choir project. It is a celebration of community, friendship, and the joy of making music together.

Over several months, singers prepare independently through online rehearsals, study videos and learning material before coming together for one inspiring weekend of intensive rehearsals and a final concert. The result is something truly special: strangers become friends, individual voices become one choir, and music becomes a shared experience.

This year's programme, LUMEN, explores the theme of Light—light that brings hope, healing, peace and joy. The repertoire spans centuries and continents, from ancient sacred chant to contemporary masterpieces, including Ēriks Ešenvalds' breathtaking Trees, Michael John Trotta's moving Lux aeterna, beloved South African works, and a few joyful surprises.

At its heart, Ja! vir die lewe is about more than singing beautifully. It is about saying "Yes!"—yes to life, yes to music, yes to friendship, and yes to the remarkable things that happen when people come together with a shared purpose.
