Below are some key information about this conference!
Our heart and goal is to equip parents, teachers, children's ministries and anyone working with children; with practical skills on how to best help her children in fostering their relationship with God, as well as seeing her own relationship blossom in small ways she never knew she needed. Her daughters are using scripture to overcome fear and enjoy daily occurrences, and her youngest is coming to understand who Jesus is in a way that makes perfect sense to him.
That is what this conference is about. We want to equip parents, teachers, caregivers and children’s church leaders with practical skills and knowledge on how to best foster a strong foundational relationship in their children with God. We often overlook the importance of children in churches and ministry. Children can be powerful, and their testimonies and faith can be just as life-altering as ours. We hope to give you a God-experience that leaves you walking away with a desire and passion to ignite that same fire within you, in the children you live and work with.
Heather Thompson – from PowerPack Ministries in the UK - will be leading the conference which takes place on the 19th and 20th of July at the Journey of Grace church in Tygervalley area, Cape Town. Besides several plenary sessions, we’ll be partaking in Encounter Stations – a unique and fun way of experiencing God’s presence, that will draw you nearer to God and will equip you with the know-how on how to do the same stations with your children. Various “how to” workshops will give you practical ideas that you can implement immediately and easily.
This event is not merely going to equip you, it’s going to challenge you and draw you closer in your relationship with God. Join us and let’s start raising warriors for Christ together!

Who is Heather Thompson?
Heather Thompson has been involved in children’s ministry since she was too old to be a child in the Sunday school! Leading children’s groups early in her teenage years, God called her to full time children’s work when she was 15 years old. After teaching for 5 years in both Primary and Secondary schools, she left that job to fulfill her calling. Heather, as well as other members of the Powerpack Ministry team, have ministered extensively throughout the UK and internationally in countries such as: Argentina, Armenia, Uganda, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Spain, South Africa, the Czech Republic, Romania, Thailand, Burma and the USA.
Heather Thompson founded Powerpack Ministries in 1986 and she is still the director of this ministry. This ministry originated from the concept that children can be little ‘powerpacks’ for God. Heather believes that the word ‘Powerpack’ is all about seeing children raised up as ‘God chasers and nation shakers’. Powerpack Ministries is interdenominational and charismatic in character. They are team based, which implies that they draw volunteers from various churches throughout the UK and overseas.

She also has a passion to see children encounter God’s presence and understand that He is real and with them. Lynette really enjoys mentoring and training people working in children’s ministry so that together we can bring God’s love to all children. She facilitates a network of children’s pastors who meet once a month to encourage and equip one another. She is currently writing a children’s church syllabus from pre-school to grade 7 that allows children to engage with God, as well as teaching children about God. Lynette is also part of a ministry called I am Special, that works in disadvantaged schools, teaching children about who they are and who God is.
