The L.I. Live Steamers are a not-profit educational organization. We run two Sundays a month, usually the second and last Sunday. Check the dates on our FB page under the 'FEATURED' tab for lots of information. We open at 10:30 am and around 2:30pm when the ticket booth closes for the day. Anyone with a ticket can ride till 3pm, when the all the trains are returned to their storage.
Arriving after 2:30 pm, visitors will no longer be permitted to ride, with no ticket. No exceptions.
As a non-profit we do not charge a price for tickets; we only ask for a CASH donation of your choosing. Tickets are easy to figure out. 4 people in your group x 3 rides = 12 tickets. On the groundline you will go around twice. Please ABSOLUTELY NO CAMERA, VIDEO, PHONE, TEXTING OR BREASTFEEDING while the train is in motion. We can take a picture before or after the ride for you, please ask the engineer or the station master. We do not run in heavy rain (and possibly windy conditions, due to branches breaking off from the pine and trees around the track). If you are pregnant, for yours and your baby safety, please DO NOT ride our trains. It is a safety issue in the event you fall off. SAFETY FIRST!! We do have spotters and the other train engineers and their flag people around the track looking for safety non-compliance and will stop a train and ask you to put it away or give to your significant other.
Toddlers must be able to walk WITHOUT any adult fingers, or any assistance to ride the train due to their lack of balance. Toddlers CANNOT ride in your lap, baby backpack, or standing on the seat resting against you. They must be able to sit on the train with legs over each side of the bench for the whole ride. It they can't do this, we will ask you to leave the train for their safety and ours.
If you have a special request, please alert the ticket booth so we can make arrangements for you to ride.
We do host parties in our fenced in area for a donation. If you are interested, please contact

If our highline train is running, it has limited quantity of tickets for the morning and possibly for the afternoon. Once the amount is given out that is it for the session. Only those over 40" can ride on the highline train (like at Adventureland), we do measure ALL children at the Ticket booth.
NEW RULE FOR CHILDREN ON THE HIGHLINE: All children must be measured at the ticket booth. If the booth person see they are at 40 plus inches. The child(ren) will be stamped on the back of the hand with a special logo to signify they can ride. If you chose to wait on the High line waiting line, and skip this instruction, the engineer at the ticket collection is required to verify the special hand stamp is on all the children in your party. If no stamp, the child(ren) and a parent must return to the ticket booth with their tickets to be measured and stamped, if at the 40 inches. You can return to the end of the highline waiting line. Absolutely no cutting the line will be permitted. No exceptions.
An adult must accompany a child on the highline train. Questions, please ask in the chat or in person at the Ticket Booth. Thank you.
We do have picnic tables on site if you wish to bring food to eat. Some tables may be reserved for our special guests and our party families and are not available for the general public to use at that time.
Parking is in the top parking lot or along the street ONLY. Lower parking lot is for LILS club members and their families. If you do not have a parking sticker, we can ask you to move.
We are located in the middle of the Central Pine Barrens among the trees and roots that pop up. We do have bugs and ticks on the property due to the local deer, as well as bees and other bugs as part of the natural Pine Barrens experience. Please take proper precautions.
