THE TOUR – DAY BY DAY
DAY 1 – Medellín → Caribbean Coast (Turbo / Hotel Makai)
Route: 350km (215Mi) - 4h30
We leave Medellín in the morning and pass through the Oriente Tunnel, quickly reaching the Autopista del Sol — heading straight toward the sun and the Caribbean.
From here, the landscapes begin to change. We gradually leave the altitude of Medellín behind, descend toward Santa Fe, climb back into the mountains, and descend again as we move closer to the coast. The scenery evolves throughout the day, becoming warmer, greener, and more tropical with every kilometer.
The ride is smooth and easy, following well-maintained paved roads at a relaxed pace.
We plan three comfortable stops during the day: a morning coffee stop, lunch around midday, and a short break before reaching our destination.
In the afternoon, we arrive at Hotel Makai, near Turbo, located right by the beach. The hotel features a swimming pool and a relaxed coastal atmosphere — the perfect place to unwind, enjoy the sea breeze, and ease into the Caribbean vibe for the evening.

DAY 2 – Necoclí → Rincón del Mar
Route: 340km (210Mi) - 5h00
We’ll start the day riding toward Necoclí, then follow the coast for most of the day. Around 75% of the route runs along the Caribbean coastline, offering open views, warm air, and a true seaside riding atmosphere.
The roads are mostly paved and easy, with only a short section between two coastal villages that feels a bit more adventurous — a hard-packed gravel road with a few potholes, nothing technical or complicated. Just enough to add a bit of character to the ride.
We continue riding through banana plantations and palm fields, surrounded by tropical scenery, before joining sections of the Caribbean highway, enjoying long, smooth straights as we get closer to the coast.
By the afternoon, we’ll arrive in the fishing village of Rincón del Mar, our destination for the night.
We’ll stay at El Rincón del Francés and Hotel Barracuda, two beachfront hotels owned by a French host, known for their warm welcome and excellent service.
The day ends the best way possible: a dinner by the beach, feet in the sand, sea breeze in the air, and a relaxed Caribbean vibe.

DAY 3 – Rincón del Mar | Caribbean Beach Day

In the morning, there is an optional boat tour through the mangroves, where we’ll explore the surrounding nature and have the chance to spot sloths in their natural environment.
This activity is optional and available at:
COP 40,000 per person
For those who prefer to stay in, it’s the perfect time to relax on the beach, swim in the warm Caribbean waters, and fully enjoy the laid-back atmosphere.
At lunchtime, we enjoy a typical Caribbean meal, with fresh fish, chicken, or other local options, depending on preferences.
In the evening, we all come together for a special lobster dinner by the beach.
Lobster is optional and available at:
COP 70,000 for 500gr (≈ 1.1 lb)
COP 140,000 for 1kg (≈ 2.2 lb)
We finish the day sharing a relaxed evening by the sea, enjoying good food, good company, and the Caribbean night.

DAY 4 – Rincón del Mar → Caucasia
Route: 260km (160Mi) - 3h40
On Day 4, we’ll leave the Caribbean coast behind and begin our journey back inland, heading toward Caucasia.
The ride follows national highways through the Colombian lowlands, offering a completely different atmosphere from the coast. The landscape opens up into wide, flat plains, often described as savanna-like countryside, with long straight roads and a steady, relaxed riding rhythm. It’s an easy and enjoyable day on the bike, perfect for settling into the flow of the road.
By the afternoon, we’ll arrive in Caucasia and check in at Hotel El Mesón del Gitano.
It’s a comfortable and welcoming hotel, ideal for a stopover after a full riding day. The hotel features a swimming pool, perfect for cooling off and relaxing once the helmets come off.
The hotel also has its own restaurant, so we stay in for the evening, enjoy a good dinner together, and rest up for the final day of riding.

DAY 5 – Caucasia → Medellín
Route: 340km (215Mi) - 5h40
On the final day, we leave Caucasia and head back toward Medellín on one of the nicest return routes in the region.
We ride along a newly built highway in perfect condition, where toll access keeps traffic light and the road open. This makes for a smooth, enjoyable ride, with beautiful curves winding through the mountains and a steady, relaxed rhythm — a real pleasure to finish the tour on two wheels.
After leaving the highway, we reach the outskirts of Medellín for the final stretch of the ride. From there, everyone heads their own way, marking the end of a great journey filled with coastal vibes, smooth roads, and shared moments.
A calm, satisfying final ride — the perfect way to close this Caribbean escape.
