WWU Concert Choir and Advanced Treble Chorale
This annual Fall fundraising concert features WWU's two auditioned choirs: Concert Choir and Advanced Treble Chorale, directed by new Interim Director of Choral Activities Ali Sandweiss Hodges. All funds raised from the tickets sales of this concert go directly toward supporting the activities of the Choral Department at Western, including touring, festivals, supporting the extra efforts of our students, and promoting our program in the region.
The choirs will perform a wide stylistic variety of pieces to showcase the versatility of the singers at Western. The choirs' two overlapping sets will feature pieces from 17th -century Italy, modern day Broadway, Appalachian-style folk, vocal jazz, modern choral classical from the Philippines and Argentina, and more. The beginning and ending pieces will be performed antiphonally by the two choirs together, making use of the terrific acoustics of First Congregational Church of Bellingham to surround the audience in sound.
