- **Event Description**: On March 28, Bellingham and Whatcom County residents will come together at Bellingham’s waterfront “pump track”, across Granary Avenue from Waypoint Park and, with millions of Americans across the country, participate in a nationwide day of nonviolent protest at the third No Kings National Day of Nonviolent Action. There are thousands of events scheduled nationwide. 

A rally sponsored by Indivisible Bellingham, a local organization of pro-democracy, civically engaged activists numbering more than 4,500, will commence at 1 p.m. Bellingham Troublemakers, a local group formed around building a community of resistance to authoritarianism, will coordinate a march, starting from the rally location at approximately 1:45 p.m. The march will thread through downtown Bellingham for approximately 1.5 miles and end back at the rally site, where participants are invited to build relationships, join organizations, and commit to take action with numerous non-profit, pro-democracy, pro-voter organizations. 

“Our community is intentionally collaborating to push back against President Trump’s violent, authoritarian actions,” said Kevin Leja, a member of Indivisible Bellingham’s leadership team. “We’re bringing together local residents from all walks of life who share a simple message: We don’t do dictators or kings in America.” 

“Families can't afford healthcare, food, and housing, but the current administration is spending billions to send violent ICE agents into our communities, and waging war in the Middle East, all without the support of the vast majority of Americans. Only someone who would ignore the law and the norms of the presidency and who views himself as a king would do that, and we’re rallying and marching on March 28 to say NO KINGS.” 

No Kings is a mass, nonviolent movement that has already mobilized millions — from more than five million participants on June 14, 2025 to more than 7 million people joining 2,700+ events across all 50 states and the District of Columbia on October 18, 2025 — and is growing as communities unite to reject authoritarian power grabs and defend dignity and freedom.

We’re excited to join with other groups organizing the No Kings nonviolent protests across the country including ACLU, American Federation of Teachers, Common Defense, 50501, Human Rights Campaign, Indivisible, League of Conservation Voters, MoveOn, National Nurses United, Public Citizen, SEIU, among others. 

All No Kings events adhere to a shared commitment to nonviolent protest and community safety. Organizers are trained in de-escalation, every local event has a safety lead, and organizers are coordinating closely with local partners to ensure powerful, nonviolent local actions.
