The stories centers on a mother who struggles with worsening bipolar disorder and the effects that managing her illness have on her family. With an exciting rock score, a Pulitzer prize, and three Tony awards, Next to Normal explores the ripple effects and struggles of mental illness, grief, and familial trauma with compassion and authenticity.
Next to Normal The musical addresses grief, depression, suicide, drug abuse, ethics in modern psychiatry, and the underbelly of suburban life.
