Original photos by the author of the patrol at work packing slopes, handling accidents, preparing racecourses, and confronting avalanche threats. And, finally, gripping tales of seemingly bizarre events that actually happened. Dave Laster's book is a collection of well-told stories about a golden era of skiing in sun drenched Sun Valley.Dave Laster has been skiing and mountaineering in the Northwest for over 70 years. His ski patrol adventures in 1960s Sun Valley preceeded 25 years of teaching high school in Italy and Germany, before his return to Bellingham in 1994. A graduate of Western Washington College, his early skiing adventures were at a much smaller Mount Baker. Since returning, his interests have included singing with the Kulshan Chorus for 23 years, watching racing at the Skagit Speedway, and showing his 1932 hot rod—the car he drove in high school.*Feel free to call Village Books & Paper Dreams for further assistance at 360-671-2626!* - **Event URL**: https://allevents.in/bellingham/dave-laster-skis-shovels-and-stories/100001598926786059 - **Event Categories**: sports, art, literary-art, trips-adventures - **Interested Audience**: - total_interested_count: 0 ## Ticket Details - **Ticket Price Range**: min: 6.24, max: 37.61, currency: USD ## Event venue details - **city**: Bellingham - **state**: WA - **country**: United States - **location**: Village Books and Paper Dreams - **lat**: 48.72072500000001 - **long**: -122.503588 - **full address**: Village Books and Paper Dreams, 1200 11th Street, Bellingham, United States ## Event gallery - **Alt text**: Dave Laster- Skis, Shovels, and Stories - **Image URL**: https://cdn-az.allevents.in/events7/banners/e4cdaedb3e874604a3169d691e33fa55346d00d3a17fa32af318d980006f7373-rimg-w1000-h500-dcd3d6db-gmir.jpg?v=1756721691 ## FAQs - **Q**: When and where is Dave Laster- Skis, Shovels, and Stories being held? - **A:** Dave Laster- Skis, Shovels, and Stories takes place on Sat, 15 Nov, 2025 at 04:00 pm to Sat, 15 Nov, 2025 at 05:00 pm at Village Books and Paper Dreams, 1200 11th Street, Bellingham, United States. - **Q**: Who is organizing Dave Laster- Skis, Shovels, and Stories? - **A:** Dave Laster- Skis, Shovels, and Stories is organized by Village Books. - **Q**: Who is this event for?
