- **Event Name**: PlantAmnesty: If These Trees Could Talk
- **Event Start and End Date**: Wed, 09 Sep, 2026 at 06:00 pm (-07:00)
- **Event Description**: Horticulturist Michelle Rau will dig into the tree stories of a couple of the most frequented public gardens in the Puget Sound area (Bellevue Botanical Garden, Washington Park Arboretum), and how educators approach working with students in the public arena. From the beautiful and serene moments of silence before a class to the inferno of processing complex information quickly (what is that thing and what does it do!?), and the moment things click and the tree is seen. These trees have seen us all grow, watching as we make connections to the natural world. In this talk, we’re going to share tales about the trees themselves and how they’ve become ingrained in our community and lives throughout the seasons.
