Learn to use tools, build skills and gain confidence in a supportive environment.About this EventIntro to Your Toolbox Intensive (3-Hour Hands-On Session)Got tools sitting at home you don’t use… or standing in the aisle thinking “I should know this”? You’re not alone — and you’re not behind. Join me, Tammy from Canadian Handywoman and the Home & Farm editor for Harrowsmith, for a 3-hour, hands-on toolbox intensive designed to help you finally feel comfortable using the tools you’ve been avoiding. This isn’t a quick overview. This is where you actually learn how to use them. Designed by women, for women, this session gives you the time, space, and support to get your hands on the tools, try things out, and build real confidence — not just watch someone else do it.Why This Workshop ExistsMost women were never actually shown how to use tools in a way that builds real confidence. So things get put off.Tools go unused. And even small jobs feel bigger than they need to be.This workshop exists to change that. You’ll get the time, space, and support to actually use the tools, understand how they work, and feel comfortable doing it yourself. Because once you stop guessing, everything gets easier. And you start seeing your home as something you can handle — not something that handles you. What you’ll learn:How to confidently use these essential tools:ScrewdriverAllen keysHammerPry barTape measurerLevelPliersWrenchPainters toolDrillWhat each tool is for — and when to use itHow to choose the right tool and fastener for the jobHow to handle these tools safely and with controlThe basics of materials like wood, screws, and anchorsHow to connect it all so you can actually get started on your own projects by building a small take-home project! This isn’t a sit-back-and-watch kind of workshop. You’ll be using the tools yourself, asking questions, and figuring it out in a supportive, no-pressure space. No experience needed — just curiosity and a willingness to try.Event DetailsDate: Saturday, October 24th 9:00 am to 12:00 pmLocation: Wallbridge Loyalist Road & the 401Cost: $198 (HST included)Format: Hands-on, in-personSpots: Limited to 6 participantsTools providedIf you’re ready to stop second-guessing, start using the tools you already have (or finally know what to buy), and feel capable in your own space — this is your starting point. This Workshop Is For You If:You’re a homeowner who’s tired of feeling unsureYou’re handling things on your own and want to feel more confidentYou’ve used tools before but still second-guess yourselfYou’ve been avoiding small fixes because they feel more complicated than they shouldThis Is NOT For:Licensed tradespeopleAnyone looking for certification or formal trainingFull renovation or advanced-level workThis is about real-world skills and practical confidence in your own home. This one changes how you see your home and what you’re capable of.
