Enjoy the spring air and learn a bit about this small, historic village which predates the canal's 1830s construction. Hear about the Millstone River powered grist mill that encouraged settlement at this location prior to the Revolutionary War, the village that grew in the 19th century due to the D&R Canal's construction and the people connected to its story. Along the way, parts of the canal's infrastructure will be highlighted including buildings, waste gates, culverts and locks! 

We've planned this walk to coincide with the seasonal opening of the Millstone Valley Scenic Byway's Visitor Center located in the former Griggstown Bridge Tender's House which we will visit and where we will conclude our walk.

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗴𝘀𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝟭𝟭:𝟬𝟬 𝗮𝗺 (see link above). Be prepared for a consistently paced 2-mile round-trip walk lasting about 2 1/2 hours. Bring water, dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking/hiking shoes.
