This workshop offers an opportunity to slow down and notice the little details that unfold only once in the spring. James will help you spot and identify the sweet little ephemerals and provide insights on how to use your senses to embrace a sense of place. James will be assisted by his wife Elizabeth and together they will guide participants to use the tools you have to capture images of the wildflowers you are drawn to. If you have a camera with more advanced features, James can offer technical assistance. If you only have the camera on your cellphone, that works too! This class is an introductory style class appropriate for all skill levels.Meet Your Instructor:James is a fine art photographer based in Northern Michigan. James’ most recent work explores landscapes in color. Using his intimate knowledge of the area and a mixture of modern and traditional approaches, his work brings Northern Michigan into people’s homes. Whether through drone photography abstractions of our blue water lakes or elegant portraits of his favorite wildflowers, James is always searching for new ways to share the story of a place.James resides in Bellaire, Michigan, with his wife, Elizabeth Manning. In 2020, they began Two Hoots Studio, the creative launch pad for their artistic endeavors.Workshop Location Details:This workshop is hosted at Glacial Hills. We will meet at the Eckerd Road trailhead. Please dress for the weather and wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes suitable for walking on uneven ground.
