- **Event Description**: In this workshop, students will have the opportunity to sculpt a bird from crystal or colored glass. No previous experience working with hot glass is needed! More experienced students also welcome. This is an excellent opportunity to try a new shape or design, or to register with a friend who is new to glass and have fun creating together.

Students will receive an orientation to the Glassworks Studio, receive safety information, and an introduction to basic tools used for hot glass sculpting and glassblowing. Each student will then work with a skilled instructor to select colors, and shape hot glass into a small bird. There will be time to practice and refine your final piece. Working with hot glass requires teamwork. Students will learn how to be good assistants and help each other throughout the process.

Finished pieces will need to cool slowly overnight before they are ready to take home. Students may pick up their work the afternoon following class at the Waterfall Arts reception desk on the main floor outside the Gallery. Arrangements can be made to have pieces shipped for an additional fee.

About the instructor: Brier-Rose Werner Brown is a self-taught torch work artist who specializes in botanical jewelry. She has been blowing glass for 13 years.
