- **Event Description**: Students will have the opportunity to encase metals or other materials in clear glass, and create simple solid or blown forms, such as a paperweight or cup. Finished pieces are not guaranteed, but could be truly one-of-a-kind!

Students will receive an orientation to the Glassworks Studio, and safety information. Next, they will learn about basic tools used for hot glass sculpting and glassblowing. Working with hot glass requires teamwork. Students will learn how to be a good assistant, and help each other throughout the process. In addition to exercising creativity, this workshop will bring out students' inner scientist. Students should bring curiosity and sense of adventure.

Finished pieces will need to cool slowly overnight before they are ready to take home. Students may pick up their work the afternoon following class at the Waterfall Arts reception desk on the main floor outside the Gallery. Arrangements can be made to have pieces shipped for an additional fee.

No previous experience working with hot glass is needed! 

More experienced students also welcome. This is an excellent opportunity to experiment with mixed-media glass work, or to bring a friend who is new to glass and enjoy creating together.
