Andean Solstice Ceremony
To celebrate the transition from the long nights of winter into longer days, Helena will be making a Peruvian Haywariquy. A mandala of flowers and biodegradable items, will be made with intention and Munay (the highest form of love), and offered to our own Paqarina (nature mum) the Lagan.
This ritual (also know as a despacho) comes from the Q’ero and Wassau regions of the Andes, Peru. These people are custodians of the Incan way of life, thought to have been lost some 500 years ago. The only law in the Andean tradition is Ayni - Reciprocation, when we offer, we can ask to receive & vice-versa. We are always behind in our Ayni as we often don’t give enough thanks to nature for all that we receive.
Our aim will be to use this ceremony in gratitude for all the gifts we bestowed this year & to set intentions for the New Year to come. If you would like to put a very small item of your own into this offering, you will be more than welcome.
This event is FREE, however, monetary donations of your choice will be gratefully received for The Wiraqocha Foundation - a non-profit educational and charitable organisation dedicated to the preservation of indigenous wisdom and knowledge systems of the Q'ero people of the Andes of Peru. www.thefourthlevel.org/support-us
