Professor Konstantinos (Kostas) Andreadis of UMass Amherst will break down how drought develops, why it's become more frequent, and how it affects both wells and public water systems — plus, why the region is still in a Stage 2 drought despite recent heavy rain.

"Even with the heavy rain we've had recently, we're still in a Stage 2 drought, and that's an important distinction for people to understand. A couple of big storms can make things look better on the surface, but they don't undo months of deficit, and we want residents to have the full picture as they plan and prepare." — Conservation Administrator Julie Meyer
