Obsessions, a photo Exhibition by Philippe Aractingi
Born in Beirut in 1964, Philippe Aractingi
is a french-lebanese filmmaker.
Self-taught, he discovered his passion at
the early age of 8, when his father gifted
him his first instant camera.
Two years later, the war erupted in
Lebanon and Philippe started
photographing it for the press. Shortly
after, he felt repulsed by the effects of the
war and decided to stop. A poet at heart,
he lived, and still does, to make others
dream. He then started directing films
and documentaries, releasing over 50
documentaries and 4 award-winning long
feature-films, which have been distributed
internationally. Through it all, Philippe
never stopped enjoying photography
and he did so by capturing moments that
demonstrate just how fragile and
fleeting life really is.
“Obsessions” is his second photography
exhibition after “Night in Beirut” in
2010 in Paris.
