Come and join our next LESSN meeting about “Lebanon in the 2020 Olympics” on Saturday, March 2, 2019, 10am-noon which will be followed by coffee and refreshments. Representatives from the National Olympic Committee and different federations as well as past and future Olympic athletes have confirmed their participation to discuss with us the preparations of the Lebanese athletes for the Summer Games in July/August 2020 in Tokyo. Which support do they receive from external and domestic sources such as the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the National Olympic Committee (NOC) and the Lebanese government? Do Lebanese athletes have a chance to qualify for the greatest sporting event in the world, or will they depend on wild cards and invitations from the IOC? Will the Lebanese delegation rely on athletes raised in the vast Lebanese diaspora or will it be primarily comprised of home-grown athletes?
Our meeting will take place in the building B of Saint Joseph University, USJ CIS campus (Damascus road in front of French Embassy), 5th floor.
