Quilt retreat April 12 - 19 2026
An English spoken retreat especially for quiltsters and quilters from the United Kingdom. But other quilters from Europe are welcome.

We are delighted to invite you to a fantastic retreat in April 2026. We will stay in Hotel de Borken Dwingeloo. The location is unique. Adjacent to nature reserves, away from the highway and also centrallylocated in the north of the Netherlands nearby thethree provinces point of Friesland, Groningen and Drenthe.
The hotel has double rooms, with 2 single beds, next to each other, with own bedding.
If you come with a friend or with your (non-sewing) partner you can share one room. If you come alone we will give you a roommate to make new friends for life.
The hotel has a huge relax room, an indoor swimming pool, sauna, wirlpool and outdoor terraces to relax and enjoy talking with quilt-friends.
The restaurant where we will enjoy our meals, uses many local organic ingredients. Vegetarian and diet meals are available. All meals are served as a varied buffet.
In the sewing room are tables that are big enough for your sewing machine and a cutting mat. You will have access to the sewing room from 9.30 in the morning until 22.00 in the evening. Lessons are between 10.00 and 17.00. There are several cutting mats and ironing tables available in the room. There will be a small shop with all kinds of quilters ‘needs’ to buy.
We think a retreat is not a retreat without any fun surprises. During this 8 days we offer you a surprise evening with a lottery with nice prices. Of course there will be a show and tell, and you’ll get goodie bag.
What Quilt would you like to make:
There's room for both beginning and more experienced quilters. We offer a complete package with two quilt patterns to choose from:
Unicorn Galaxy or Peppermint Twist.
The fabrics we offer you are the new fabric line of Tula Pink: New true colors (cotton) ; Timeless Treasures Color Stock (Cotton) or Jacqueline de Jonge (Batik). We will make a couple of colorways to choose from.
What is included:
• You will stay in a 2 persons rooms with shower, toilet, sink, TV.
• Single rooms are not available, When You want to stay alone in a double room, the price is £450,- extra
• Free Wi-Fi in the whole building
• All meals are included from dinner on April 12 until lunch on April 19.
• Coffee/tea (drinks in the restaurant and in the bar are not included).
• And of course chocolate, chips and more in the sewing room????
Your own sewing station (bring your own sewing machine)
o There are a limited number of small sewing machines available for rent: £ 25 for the whole week.
• Lessons from the team of 2 persons
• A Goodie bag with many fun (Dutch) things inside.
What is on your own costs
• Your travel costs
• Consumptions & drinks in the restaurant and the hotel bar (also during lunch or dinner)
• Your quilt pattern and kit.
• Excursions for non-sewing guests (but if you want to join, feel free)
Extra
• You can bring your partner with you. We need to know that when you book
(please fill in one booking formular for each person). The sewing room has
place for 20 sewing participants.
• For non-sewing guests we can arrange an extra excursion.

Paying scedule
By booking: £ 300,-
The remaining amount must be paid before January 31, 2026. However, you can also pay monthly.
