The Ancient art of Hedge-laying
Great opportunity to come and learn the ancient art of Hedge-laying here at the Clophill Centre.
We have Colin Carpenter coming along to teach us how to lay a hedge.... this is a great skill to learn, it thickens up and rejuvenated a hedge which benefits us in that it provides a better boundary, and the wildlife as it provides better cover..
Colin is an amazing guy who is a font of wisdom when it comes to all things woodland related, he teaches at Shuttleworth College, and runs a community tree nursery up the road from us; he collects seeds from the best local specimen trees and grows them in to provide a great selection of native trees that are perfectly adapted to this locality.
It’s a great opportunity to spend the day together learning an old land based skill, spending time outdoors with a group of likeminded people, talking about Nature and whatever else turns up!
We will provide a warm welcome, connected culture & a nourishing soup for lunch.
Investment: £40 for the day. Kids come
