The Adult Mental Health First One Day course qualifies you as an MHFA Champion
This course has been developed by Mental Health First Aid (MHFA England). It provides the skills, knowledge and understanding of first aid for mental health and how to effectively support those experiencing distress.
This empowers both individuals and communities to understand the signs and symptoms of mental health issues and how best to support themselves and those around them in recovery. It will help reduce stigma and discrimination around mental health.
This course is accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health, it will be delivered by a Mental Health First Aid Instructor who is registered by MHFA. Learners will gain a deeper understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect people’s wellbeing, including their own.
During the course you will learn how to:
Recognise the main signs and symptoms of common mental health issues
Provide initial support
Guide a person towards appropriate professional help
Be mindful of your own wellbeing
Develop an understanding of how you can create and maintain a healthier workforce or community
Please note that this MHFA Champion course is for attendees aged 16 or over.
The sessions will be a mix of presentation, group discussions, and group work activities. Our instructors provide a very safe learning environment and are trained to support you throughout the whole course.
You'll receive an MHFA manual that you can take away with you at the end of the course and also an attendance certificate from MHFA England to say you are now an MHFA Champion.

How much will it cost?
The MHFA One Day course takes place over one full day at a cost of £150 per person.
Where is the course being held?
The course is being held at the University of Bedfordshire, Pollhill Avenue, Bedford MK41 9EA
Light refreshment during the day will be provided, however, attendees will be responsible for providing their lunch. There is a Costa Coffee and canteen on site.
Parking is available on site with a maximum charge of £1.40 per day
What's the refund policy?
If the workshop is cancelled by Edu-c8 Inspired Training, you will be offered a place on a course on an alternative date. If a suitable alternative date cannot be arranged, your payment will be refunded in full.
In the event of a participant’s non-attendance or cancellation within 30 working days before the beginning of the course, the payment is non-refundable subject to our discretion.
