This one is for all you soul heads, we have assembled a stellar line up of selectors. The welcome return of the legend that is Terry Jones, joined by Martin Collins, Abi Clarke and local hero Rob James. Last years event with Terry was one of the easiest sell outs we have ever had , I'm sure this year will be the same. Tickets start at just £10 available from ticket tailor. TJ, aka Terry Jones has been spinning SOUL to the UK SOUL punters for almost 50 years now, having his own weekly London residency “The Norfolk Village” for an incredible 21 of those. 2003 saw the release of a tribute album to the venue, compiled by Terry. Released through Expansion Records, SOUL Togetherness presents Village SOUL is very much a ‘must have’ for all SOUL fans, and was followed up with another equally collectible set, when Village Soul 2 was released late in 2008, to much critical acclaim. As a resident of the Southport Weekender for over 25 years, his sets were eagerly awaited at each event, and when this great event ceased to be, TJ continued his association with the event as a resident at the annual spin off – SUNCEBEAT in Croatia, LDF, the Liverpool Disco Festival, Brighton Beats and the SPW Festival, in London. He continues to entertain audiences all over the UK, including his own gigs, Come On Over & Back To The Village, his Village Soul residency at Newcastle’s brilliant Hoochie Coochie, and Suite Soul in Scotland, and regularly spins around Europe. You can catch up with him in various destinations this year including Soul Fusion in Dublin, Brilliant Soul in Frankfurt, Suncebeat & BolSoul in Croatia, to name just a few. His radio shows included True Soul on Sunday mornings on Solar Radio, and a five year weekly stint with is show Access All Eras on pioneering Internet Soul station Soul24-7.com. TJ joined Mi-Soul Radio last year and now presents the show monthly on the hugely popular London Station. Wherever he plays, watch & listen, as TJ plays quality SOUL all night long, in a style that’s all his own. He is referred to as the People’s DJ, and one thing’s for sure, in the words of Tony Clark’s 6ts classic tune – HE’S THE ENTERTAINER. Abi started dj ing in 1996 as a resident at a weekly night ‘DO ME A FAVOUR’ in London’s West End playing a mix of soul, jazz funk, boogie, lovers rock and rare groove. This led to her own weekly nights at The Vibe Bar (Brick Lane) and Tongue and Groove (Brixton) as well as a twice weekly residency at The Cafe de Paris (VIP rooms) and The Met Bar, Park Lane. She has played as a guest DJ at numerous UK clubs over the years including Balance with Gilles Peterson, Mind Fluid with Kevin Beadle, WarBox with Ashley Beedle, Destination Out with Ross Allen, 45 and Beyond with Dr Bob Jones, the legendary FAITH mansion house party and It’s So with Ronnie Herel to name but a few. Abis Festival work includes The Montreux Jazz Festival, Womad, The Urban Games, Colores Tenerife and The World Snowboarding Championships. In 1999 she started working for SOUL JAZZ records in their Soho based store SOUNDS OF THE UNIVERSE where her musical knowledge and collection grew and she soon became part of the SOUL JAZZ SOUND SYSTEM playing reggae, funk and soul in London, around the UK and Worldwide regular trips were made to Australia,New Zealand, Germany, France, Switzerland, Sweden,Greece,Scotland,Ireland and Montenegro. More recent festivals include Mi-Biza Soul, The Southport Weekender,Hayling Island Spring Soul and Reggae Weekender,Ibiza Soul Week, Margate Soul Festival, Suncebeat Festival, Beautiful People Festival, We Out Here, Wild Canvas, Wilderness, Liquid Spirit Gozo, and more…. Currently she has a regular Saturday sessions – SOUL on WAX with JP at The Horse and Groom, Curtain Road, It Takes Two with fellow Mi Soul selector Terry Jones at The Royal Standard, Blackheath and regular STOMP parties with Ross Allen and Rocky (X-Press 2) at Spiritland on the legendary Faith Boat parties and elsewhere.
