# Event Details - **Event Name**: Silver NNAS Intermediate Navigation Course Eryri/Snowdonia - **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 08 Aug, 2026 at 09:30 am – Sun, 09 Aug, 2026 at 04:30 am (+01:00) - **Event Description**: On this two-day course, you will consolidate what you’ve learned on the Beginner’s course and take your skills to the next level. This course will take place on more challenging terrain, using a combination of recognised paths and bridleways as well as walking off the path on uneven and rocky terrain I am pleased to announce that I will be delivering the Silver NNAS Courses in Eryri (Snowdonia) this coming year. I am also delighted to welcome Becky Jeffrey to my small team, who will be co-leading the courses with me. Course Objectives Recognise and understand land features and forms to use as navigational aids How to plan and use more complex navigational strategies How to recognise and correct navigational errors Using the compass to measure distance How to take bearings with a compass How to use pacing and timing over open terrain Understand the basics of route finding in poor visibility or darkness Learn and understand navigational techniques including hand-railing, aiming off and attack points You will learn about personal kit and equipment to carry in more remote areas Using weather forecasts to plan ahead Understand and have an awareness of local and national access issues or legislation Equipment We can provide a compass for you to use for both days however you will need to provide your own map – OS Explorer 17 – Snowdon Waterproofs (Upper and lower body) Warm layers (including spare items for any emergencies in your kit bag) Hats/gloves (appropriate to time of year) Any food/water/hot flask (there are no refreshments en route during the day) Personal medications and suncream Supportive and appropriate footwear Headtorch (for emergency use only) Gaiters are optional, but I do find they keep my boots drier for longer and protect my legs and trousers from the heather/gorse/bracken* A stopwatch or watch with a stopwatch function* Notebook, if you like to make notes* Sit mat* Walking poles if needed* (*optional) Please visit my website - www.emmahollandmountaintraining.co.uk for more detailed information and to book Please contact me via WhatsApp 07813 804566 or email emma@emmahollandmountaintraining.co.uk if you have any questions.
