Blast off through the solar system as the Beaverton Symphony Orchestra performs Gustav Holst's The Planets with vivid storytelling narrated by All Classical Radio's Christa Wessel. The Planets... and Beyond! tells the story of humanity's millennia-long fascination with our solar system's wandering celestial bodies with thrilling music and never-before-seen dazzling projected imagery.
It doesn't end there! With pre-concert activities including an instrument petting zoo, story time, sweet treats, and more, this concert event is the perfect family outing for music fans of all ages. Don't forget to wear your favorite space-themed costume, too!
As part of the symphony's continuing partnership with Beaverton School District, select high school students have been invited to play side-by-side with the orchestra for a portion of the concert, and—funded by BSO's summer internship program—Portland State University music education students developed an elementary concert curriculum to guide area students through this performance.
As always, children are free to attend! But this season the Beaverton Symphony Orchestra is debuting a new pricing system: Pay What You Can! with a suggested ticket price of $20. The BSO wants to ensure that ticket price is not a barrier for anyone in the community to enjoy beautiful orchestral music.
Marvel at the mystery of the solar system with the Beaverton Symphony Orchestra, Oregon Chorale, students of Beaverton and surrounding school districts for the family event of the year, January 23rd and 25th, 2026 at Village Church in Beaverton! Tickets and information at BeavertonSymphony.org
