It is likely the most famous chapter in the Bible. Heard the world over each year in December, Luke Chapter Two gives the most detailed account of the birth of Jesus Christ. And yet, the chapter doesn't end with His birth--doctor-turned-historian, Luke, continues on with his careful accounting of eyewitness records of the life of Jesus.
The known historical record of Jesus--born in Bethlehem, escaped to Egypt, raised in Nazareth, ministered in Israel, killed outside Jerusalem, raised from the dead out of the garden tomb, and ascended to Heaven from the Mount of Olives--is given careful attention and precision, just as one would expect of an account of a man as famous and followed as Jesus was in the first century. Luke makes it clear that he must get the details correct--first, because Jesus is God, and secondly, because the eyewitnesses demand the truth.
Come along with us as we pause at the manger, and go beyond to understand the reality of Who Jesus is from those who walked and talked with Him. We meet at 6:30 pm in Panera Bread, The Greene, Thursday, April 2, 2026. We'd love to see you there!
