Every year we welcome Catherine Tyson Ameen to our library and every year, she does not disappoint!  

This year, Catherine will bring Black History and her talents  in an unique and interactive way!  All who attend will experience the journey side by side with her by creating their own interpretive water color art while Catherine shares Black History from slavery through present day. 

Catherine Ameen is a distinguished and deeply respected artist whose work spans more than six decades of creative exploration and mastery. Now in her 80s, Catherine’s artistry reflects a lifetime of dedication, curiosity, and a profound engagement with both the visible world and the inner landscape of emotion and memory. Her work carries the quiet authority of someone who has not only honed her technical skills through rigorous practice, but who has also cultivated a deep understanding of the evolving nature of art itself—from its classical foundations to its most contemporary expressions.
