“Peter Himmelman is on the same plane as Elvis Costello, Graham Parker, and Bruce Springsteen and nudging his way to ‘Dylanhood’ — Parke Puterburgh former chief editor, Rolling Stone/Stereo Review

“Listening to Himmelman renews one’s appreciation of how simple life could be and how difficult it can be. And it makes one marvel that music so basic should hit so deep.” Billboard

Matt Cartsonis is a Grammy-nominated singer/ composer/ producer/ multi-instrumentalist. A Sundance Composer Fellow with a strong predilection for American traditional styles, he’s scored network TV shows, documentaries and movie trailers. He’s been performing solo and with others since his mid-teens, when he began working his way through high school in his home state of Arizona playing bluegrass and roots-country music. Then came college in Poughkeepsie, and a long relationship with the Hudson River Sloop Clearwater crowd. That was a long time ago; since then he’s played and recorded with the likes of Pete Seeger, Warren Zevon, Wendy Waldman, Jennifer Warnes, Bryndle, Steve Martin, Glen Campbell, Van Dyke Parks, Ringo Starr and The Austin Lounge Lizards. He’s got a couple of his own recordings, is a reasonably funny guy who has just semi-relocated to the Hudson Valley and does not plan to slow down any time soon!
