Ever wondered why it’s called the “Dummy Light”? Come find out! The Beacon Historical Society has collaborated with the library on a companion mini-exhibition exploring the colorful history of the Dummy Light. Vintage photographs and interesting details tell the story of this unusual traffic signal, one of just three remaining dummy lights in New York State.

Also on view in the Community Room is Cardboard Dreams, an exhibition from Compass Arts featuring work created by middle school campers. After spending a week imagining how they might re-envision Beacon’s Main Street, the campers created their own version in cardboard, including, of course, the Dummy Light!

Come celebrate Beacon’s past, present, and imagined future through art, history, music, and community.

Free and open to all!
