# Event Details - **Event Name**: Sunday Creek Epic Waterfalls Hike (Girringun NP) - **Event Start and End Date**: Sat, 25 Jul, 2026 at 06:00 am - **Event Description**: IMPORTANT EVENT INFORMATION – Sunday Creek Epic Waterfalls Hike (Girringun NP) If you love a good off trail waterfall adventure, with the highest falls being ~70 metres, don’t miss this one! Come join us on a new kind of adventure and see how offtrack adventuring is conducted where the guides make a track file and then we go to some beautiful remote locations. This sort of adventure will give those who participate an opportunity to see how it’s done and what’s involved in the planning process as well as seeing the guides effectively plan, process, and adapt as they go figuring out the best routes in the field to successfully reach the targeted objectives. There are four main waterfalls which we are targeting, and each has a plunge pool and swimming area. Once we enter the field depending on the conditions and the group dynamics, we will decide how long we will spend at each waterfall. There will be plenty of refilling areas for your water bottles in the creeks. Bring some water tablets or a filtration bottle. Life saver bottles are good and can be purchased at any anaconda store. This adventure will start on a public access road for approximately 300m before we go off trail. There will be various types of terrain we will encounter from dry forestry to rocky creek beds to exposed rocks and bush scrub. There is plenty of swimming holes as we make our way up along side Sunday creek. Our target destination will be a series of different waterfalls all ranging over 50m. The main prize is approximately 70m high. Sunday creek is a beautiful creek and quite exposed to the hot sun so make sure to take the time to jump into the creek to cool off as we embark on our journey up the mountain alongside Sunday creek. We will get plenty of photo opportunities along the way. Once we clear the lower forestry area we will get into the open more exposed areas of the mountain and the views will just get better and better the further we climb. See you all soon for an action-packed adventure. ---------------------------------- The TERRAIN will be undulating and entirely OFF TRAIL. The event will include OFF TRAIL HIKING, MODERATE/STEEP INCLINES AND DECLINES. The DISTANCE of this event will be ~10km The TIME this event will take depends on group dynamics, however we estimate ~7/8 hours at a moderate pace with breaks. CONDITIONS may change at any time, so you must come prepared for any change in weather/conditions. From here it is roughly 1.5 hours drive to the start point. Please be open to CARPOOLING from Yabulu to the start point to reduce our environmental impact and traffic on the road.
