Im besten Sinne des Wortes ist Marlena Käthe ihrer Zeit entwachsen und ihr doch voraus, klanglich eigenwillig und lyrisch versiert. Vor einigen Jahren eroberte sie mit ihrer EP „AGED“ (2021) die deutsche Musikszene. Mit viszeralen Songs, die von Art-Pop bis Dark Folk reichen, einer ebenso zerbrechlichen wie vielseitigen Stimme und unkonventionellen elektroakustischen Arrangements begeistert die junge Künstlerin seitdem ein immer größer werdendes Publikum. An der Schnittstelle zwischen ätherischer Folklore, intimer zeitgenössischer Poesie und modernen Produktionsmethoden sind ihre Songs wie Gedichte für eine Zeit, die unter ihren Widersprüchen zu zerbrechen droht. Die Einflüsse reichen von Emiliana Torrini über Aldous Harding bis hin zu den eklektischen Traumtagebüchern von Björk – das wird in ihrem Werk zweifellos deutlich. Genauso sicher ist Marlena Käthes einzigartige Musiksprache, die sie auf ihrer neuen EP „A<r>MOR“ (2025) konsequent weiterentwickelt.

In the best sense of the word, Marlena Käthe has outgrown her time and yet is ahead of it, with her idiosyncratic sound and lyrical prowess. A few years ago, she took the German music scene by storm with her EP ‘AGED’ (2021). With visceral songs ranging from art pop to dark folk, a voice as fragile as it is versatile, and unconventional electroacoustic arrangements, the young artist has been thrilling an ever-growing audience ever since. At the intersection of ethereal folklore, intimate contemporary poetry and modern production methods, her songs are like poems for a time that threatens to break apart under its contradictions. It is music that offers refuge from all the difficulties we face every day. Her influences range from Emiliana Torrini to Aldous Harding to the eclectic dream diaries of Björk – this is undoubtedly evident in her work. Just as certain, however, is Marlena Käthe's unique musical language, which she has already mastered and consistently developed on her new EP ‘A<r>MOR’ (2025).
