- **Event Description**: Modern Dance provides a less structured opportunity to move expressively to music.  It tends to be a more “organic” dance form that flows from the body’s center. 

Through this series of 5 classes, participants will build core and leg strength, improve balance and flexibility, and increase stamina in an encouraging and fun environment.  

Each class will begin with gentle movement to slowly warm up muscles and joints, while gradually increasing heart rate.  Over the course of the workshop classes students will learn and practice a variety of basic modern dance movements that will be combined to form short dance combinations.    Fundamental modern dance techniques will enhance body awareness and promote the ability to move through space with increased confidence.   

Workshop dates: Thursdays, Feb 19 & 26; March 5, 12, 19 

Time: 5:30-6:30 pm          Place: Tree House Yoga 

Cost: $65. for the 5- class workshop 

Class attire: comfortable, stretchy leggings, workout pants, or sweatpants:  leotard or stretchy top, and bare feet.  Loose fitting clothing is fine.
