Do you have a dancer who is passionate about performing and ready to take their training to the next level? The LBSD Competition Team gives dancers the opportunity to grow in technique, confidence, teamwork, and stage presence while proudly representing Lynn Bates School of Dance throughout the season.

Our competition team attends **three regional competitions each spring**, followed by **Nationals in late June**. In addition to competitions, our dancers represent the studio at community events, including the **Bay City Rice Festival Parade** and the **Bay City Christmas Parade**, creating memories and building friendships that last a lifetime.

💲 **$30 Tryout Fee**

Eligibility Requirements

* Dancers must be **6 years of age or older**.
* Dancers must have **at least one year of dance experience**.
* Dancers must be enrolled in a combo class** at either our Bay City or Wharton location for the 2026–2027 season.

Tryouts are designed to evaluate each dancer's current technical abilities, performance quality, flexibility, turns, jumps, musicality, and overall readiness. Placement is based on each dancer's skill level, technique, maturity, performance quality, and the needs of each team.

Being a member of the LBSD Competition Team requires dedication, commitment, and a positive attitude. Team members are expected to attend all rehearsals, competitions, performances, and studio events throughout the season.
